Anyway, Akon was freaking awesome! I'm not sure why people kept telling me not to go. I mean, sure it was crowded, but that was probably the most enthusiastic bunch of nerds and geeks I've ever been around!
Friday was a slow start. We left around 6 in the morning and made it to the hotel around...noonish I think. My sister and I waited in line for 2 and a half hours for our badge. It really wasn't that bad. Sure I was bored out of my mind, but that didn't kill my mood too badly. We had lunch at the hotel and then my sister and I went off to hang around the con while waiting for check in....it's really odd to walk around a convention NOT in cosplay. Anyway, we checked in. I changed into my Arthur costume and headed back to the con. It's funny, though, Arthur was the single most douchy character in Ao no Exorcist yet Ao no Exorcist cosplayer didn't even recognize me! I mean, sure the costume's not top notch, but you'd think white coat with wings, long blonde hair, sword...eh, whatever. I just found it funny is all. I even went up and TALKED to the other Ao no Exorcist cosplayers and they were all "Lah-dee-dah". But like I said, I found it more amusing than offensive. I went to a few panels with a couple of friends and my sister, normal con stuff. We changed into our Hunger Games cosplays later on for the heck of it. Had dinner, and then it hit me. OH SHIT I NEARLY FORGOT TO GET A HOLD OF THE FFXIII-2 GROUP! I kinda paniced and texted out Lightning (
Saturday was a great contrast to Friday. Instead of being slow it went by, regretfully, too quickly. I was taken from photoshoot to photoshoot, to weapons check, to a videoshoot, to lunch, and then to the cosplay contest. The cosplay contest was really weird. Basically the judges were too lazy to go through and judge everyone's hard work and preferred to judge us based on our stage performance. There wasn't even a time given for us to practice so we could get everyone situated and understand what the hell we were even going to do on the stage. *huffs* =3=; Oh well, our group didn't win anything, but that's alright. Our group was kick ass anyway. Not just cosplay wise, but also the people. ^__^ I gotta say, nicest people I've met in a long time.
Sunday went by fast as well, I remember going through the dealers room with the group, FINALLY getting pictures with Ao no Exorcist cosplayers (yeah, I was Arthur again and it was a Mephisto that found me...irony,) I got some buttons for friends, there was dirt cheap pocky involved and lots of hugs.
Conclusion: Akon was fucking awesome. I'll be back in TX for Afest (hopefully! I need the parents' okay..)
Now to go revamp my Caius cosplay and finally finish that damn game... x____x;
